TROUBLESHOOTING FLASH IN INJECTION MOLDING MACHINE
FLASH IN INJECTION MOLDING PRODUCT
Flash is Nothing but just an extra material over the molded product , Flash causes loss of material at the time of molding and sometimes it also destroys the surface beauty of the product .
MAJOR CAUSES OF FLASH
1. Material Too Hot at the time of injection and in the mold.
2. Injection pressure is too high.
3. Excessive Feeding of the material in the mold.
4. Improper or Uneven feeding of the material.
5. Poor parting line or the mating surfaces of the mold.
6. Mold deficiency means problem in the mold manufacturing.
7. Injection Pressure is higher than Clamping pressure.
8. Erratic or uneven or improper cycle time.
TROUBLE SHOOTING THE FLASH
TEMPERATURE :
- Check the cylinder temperature that means check the temperature of your barrel make it low if it is higher.
- Reduce the temperature of the nozzle that is an important aspect.
- Reduce the mold temperature if it is higher.
MOLDING SETTINGS :
- Increase the clamping force to make proper clamp.
- Reduce the injection pressure.
- Reduce the time of injection.
- Reduce the injection time and speed.
- Reduce the delay time.
- Filling rate of material in mold should be proper and balanced.
- Should not be interepted the flow in molds.
MACHINE SETTINGS :
- Projected area of the molding part should not be larger than clamping capacity of the mold.
- Check the position of mold it should be proper.
- Maintain the clamping pressure.
- Machine platen should be parellel.
- Tie bar should be equally strained.
- Maintain the consistent cycle.
MOLD SETTINGS :
- Core and cavities must be sealed properly.
- Core and cavities must be on the line.
- Mold plate should be parallel.
- Make Proper Support For Core and Cavities.
- Mold must be sealed completely at the time of molding the product.
- Check out for some other material that should not be sticked in between or any other thing should not be in between the molds.
- There should be proper venting in the mold.
- Approx size of vent is required vent should not be too large.
- Land area around the cavity should not be too large it reduces the sealing pressure of the core and cavity.
